Kazakhstan is an agrarian country. Much attention is paid to agriculture and the training of highly qualified personnel in the internal policy of the Republic. Agronomists, foresters, animal breeders, veterinarians and animal technicians, machine operators – the future of the country depends on the people who have chosen these professions. And these are not just big words! Healthy livestock, large harvests, and skillful land use are the key to a successful state economy.

Aktobe Agricultural College makes a significant contribution to the prosperity of agriculture of the Aktobe region and the country as a whole .

The idea of creating an agricultural college arose within the walls of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Kazakh SSR. The Republic was experiencing a shortage of middle-level agricultural personnel.
Construction was started in 1975, the contractor was Aktyubzhilstroy. They began to build an academic building, a dormitory No. 1, a boiler room.

On July 18, 1977, an order was issued on the establishment of the ASKHT.
They put an ad in the newspaper about the reception.

The set was made according to two specialties: «Mechanization of agriculture» and «Agronomy». There are 2 groups for each specialty. In total, the first set was 120 people.
The training sessions were held on the first and second floors of the academic building, where 14 classrooms and 11 laboratories were equipped. On the third and fourth floors there was a dormitory for students, and teachers and staff of the technical school lived.

By the decision of the Akim of Aktobe region No. 1 dated 18.01.1999 and by the order of the Regional Department of Education No. 12 dated 14.01.1999, the college became a state enterprise «Aktobe Agricultural College».

And for almost 4 decades, personnel training has been conducted here for the agro-industrial complex of the country. The training here is structured in such a way that the theory is fixed exclusively in practice. The college has 22 laboratories in special disciplines. Future agronomists study the rules of land use, crop rotation, varietal qualities in greenhouses and on an experimental site in the open ground.

Practical and laboratory lessons of foresters come to the Arboretum, where more than 50 species of zoned tree species are collected. The college has also created a livestock breeding ground – a vivarium, with cattle, sheep, rabbits, rare species of birds. Future veterinarians and animal technicians, animal breeders, poultry breeders practice here.

Material and technical base:the land area of the college is 21.4571 hectares, including the academic building – 32924 m2. College students are provided with a 320-bed dormitory. There is a dining room for 50 seats, an assembly hall for 230 seats, a library with a reading room for 50 seats and 13 seats connected to the Internet. The library’s book fund is 77469 books.
